From 2010 to around 2014, FreshTees UK stood as one of the most exciting platforms for up-and-coming UK-based designers. More than just a pop-up event, it was a movement—an incubator for underground streetwear brands, a networking hub for creatives, and a vibrant space where fashion met live music in the heart of Shoreditch.
The Vision Behind FreshTees UK
FreshTees UK was born out of a passion for London’s diverse streetwear culture and a need to give emerging designers a platform to showcase their work. The pop-up events provided an opportunity for independent brands to connect directly with their audience, bypassing traditional retail gatekeepers and selling their pieces in an authentic, grassroots setting.
Held monthly at the iconic Light Bar and Garden in Shoreditch, these events became a staple in the underground fashion scene. Upcoming brands could secure stalls to showcase their latest collections, while ticketed attendees discovered unique, hard-to-find streetwear pieces that weren’t available in mainstream stores.

For me personally, FreshTees UK was more than just an event series—it was a pivotal learning experience. It introduced me to many creatives, designers, and entrepreneurs who shaped my journey in London’s streetwear culture. Through these events, I gained firsthand knowledge of the industry, from brand building and marketing to the intricacies of fashion retail and event curation.
